Storm Gaming to Release BTG’s MegaWays-Powered Branded Slots

For the past few years, Big Time Gaming (BTG) has enjoyed a triumph over many big iGaming studios thanks to its innovative slot feature MegaWays. This mechanic is now being licensed by other renowned developers, the latest of which is the UK-based Storm Gaming Technology.

BTG has licenced its patented and trademarked MegaWays mechanic before only to the German Gauselmann Group-owned Blueprint Gaming. They used it to launch the Diamond Mine slot this summer and have more coming up in the near future, including one Irish game with a progressive jackpot!

Storm Gaming Technology Ltd may not be a recognisable brand name in the iGaming, but this independent manufacturer of digital land-based gaming solutions is fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and has over 5,000 machines across Europe. This includes TV show licenses like I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, The Chase, and Tipping Point.

Storm Gaming’s plan is to combine BTG’s ever-popular MegaWays with the branded games for land-based and online deployment sometime in Q1 2019. It’s tempting to say that this will be the first instance of its kind if not for BTG’s plans to release “the most anticipated branded slot launch in history” – Who Wants to be a Millionaire in November! All we can say is wish them good luck and the same success that they still carry with their Bonanza slot which has become a household name in the video slots realm.

Here’s what MegaWays actually does in a nutshell, according to BTG. The system “allows any given spin to produce a different number of symbols across the reels, allowing players to experience a totally different game with every spin.” By the way, the reason it’s called mega is also because it can generate up to massive 117,649 ways to win, at an equally high volatility.

Nik Robinson, Big Time Gaming CEO, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing how Storm use the MegaWays™ mechanic. Storm has some highly entertaining IP licenses that will work seamlessly with MegaWays™.”

Steve Murray from Storm Gaming commented: “The MegaWays™ concept is remarkable; it provides for and delivers exciting game play on a whole new level. “We shall be using MegaWays™ on new Storm concepts and licensed IP with a number of launches set for the coming months.”
