NetEnt is taking back the piggy bank. After letting Red Tiger remix Piggy Riches into two Megaways adaptations, the studio behind the original is now returning to the franchise it created with Piggy Riches 3: Hog Heaven, due out across the many NetEnt casinos on August 26, 2025.
From what we’ve seen so far, this isn’t just a remaster or a feature-reskin. Hog Heaven appears to be a fully reimagined sequel—one that leans on NetEnt’s signature style of clear mechanics, collectible progress, and satisfying buildup. And notably, no Megaways in sight this time.
A Quick Throwback: From 2016 to Now
Piggy Riches originally launched in 2016, offering 15 paylines, clickable Free Spin Scatters, and up to 6x multipliers. It had a solid hit frequency (34.11%) and a straightforward but rewarding structure—a formula that turned it into one of NetEnt’s most recognisable titles, alongside Jack Hammer, Reel Rush, and the Finn.
Later, Red Tiger introduced Piggy Riches Megaways and a follow-up, both under Evolution’s broader umbrella. But Hog Heaven brings the IP back to NetEnt’s own studio—and judging by the game sheet, it’s a very different beast.
What We Know About the Base Game
Hog Heaven is built around a 5x3 setup that expands to 5x5 in Free Spins. Mr. Piggy and Mrs. Piggy now act as Walking Wilds, moving across the reels (right and left, respectively) during a respin sequence.
When the two collide on the same row, they form a colossal Wild—either 3x3 if it’s a centre-row meet-cute or 3x2 otherwise. These colossal Wilds stick around for additional movement, potentially picking up more wins as they go.
Add to that a stacking multiplier mechanic for Wilds during respins, and you get the sense that the base game could deliver more than just filler between bonuses.
Bonus Game: Pearl-Powered Progression
Free Spins trigger with a Golden Pig Scatter, starting you off with 10 spins and a 2x2 collector symbol on the bottom-left of the expanded 5x5 grid. The collector moves to absorb Pearl, Coin, and Jackpot symbols.
- Collect 5 Pearls to grow the collector to 3x3 (+2 spins)
- 9 Pearls takes it to 4x4 (+3 spins)
- 12 Pearls unlocks 5x5 size (+4 spins)
The collector doesn’t just scoop symbols—it also applies multipliers (up to 10x), triggers Mystery Wheels, and can land jackpots up to 5,000x. And while we haven’t seen how fast these upgrades play out in practice, the design suggests a layered bonus game with rising tension.
Elevate Menu: Pay for What You Want
A full menu of feature buys is available under the Elevate system. Depending on your appetite (and bankroll), you can choose between:
- Golden Pig Mode: Increases Scatter chances (5x the bet)
- Walking Wild Re-Spins: 10x the bet
- Guaranteed Wild Collision: 30x
- Free Spins: 100x
- Free Spins + Post-Collision Wilds: 500x (includes x5 multiplier)
Worth noting: RTP values vary depending on which version or feature set you’re using. The top RTP sits at 96.06%, with lower options dipping to 88.08%.
Final Thoughts: NetEnt’s Piggy Franchise Is Back on Home Turf
Hog Heaven looks like more than just a nostalgic nod—it’s a reboot that leans into structured buildup, clean visuals, and player-friendly upgrade paths. We haven’t seen the full gameplay in action yet, but the foundations suggest a sequel that aims to be just as iconic as the original—without chasing the noise of Megaways.
Whether it hits that mark, we’ll know soon enough.
