The 13th iGaming Oscars ceremony, EGR Operator Awards 2017 is just around the corner. Having given you a preview of this year’s nominations in the casino department in an earlier post, now it’s time to start voting for your favourite slot from the 13 nominees, all powered by different developers. Here’s a quick overview of each one.
Last year’s winner, NetEnt (with its Guns N’ Roses), is competing for the top prize again. This year it’s not the epic Warlords or Jungle Spirit slot, nor the progressive Divine Fortune. Instead they go for the Game of the Year award with their first Fairytale Legends series release, Red Riding Hood. Played at a medium variance and no less than 7 bonuses, it really is a strong competitor which has also turned into a hit by producing 1.2x greater average revenue per user than Guns n’ Roses in its initial 45-day run.
Red Tiger Gaming, the most talked-about iGaming studio of the year, has also taken a firm position in the nominees’ list with its Totem Lightning game. Like most if not all of their games, it too has a unique feature with a symbol removal.
Speaking of innovation, the Swedish-based ELK Studios managed to capture many players’ attention with their new game Wild Toro, especially for its 178 ways to win, high volatility, and very rewarding Walking Wilds.
Microgaming is the only developer which features a branded game – Jurassic World. Released this summer, it’s on par with the first release, featuring different types of free spins and wild extras.
This year’s newcomers include Inspired Entertainment, with its Centurion Free Spins slot, and rather surprisingly, NextGen Gaming, featuring the Wild Play SuperBet game.
Not all Game of the Year nominees are slots, which is why Evolution Gaming and their Dream Catcher is also on the list. You can already find the one-of-a-kind wheel of fortune game at most Evolution powered Live Casinos, live 24/7.
Other noteworthy candidates for this year’s Oscar-grade prize include Playtech and it’s spectacular Age of the Gods slots (or series), Pragmatic Play with Queen of Gold, Quickspin and Sakura Fortune, as well as Play’n GO and its Viking Runecraft, and Yggdrasil Gaming with its Vikings Go Berzerk.
You can go and vote for your favourite slot by visiting the official site. Make sure you do this by 12pm BST on Friday 6 October.
