Editor's notes
Razor Returns is Push Gaming’s 2023 sequel to Razor Shark, and the clearest example in this database of a studio keeping a mechanic and rebuilding the math around it. The grid grows from 5×4 to 5×5 and the paylines from 20 to 40; Mystery Stacks now land five symbols tall on every reel, and the open-ended ceiling of the original is replaced by a fixed cap of 100,000x the stake. The core loop is the same. A Mystery Stack triggers Nudge & Reveal: it drops one row per respin and reveals a paying symbol, a Great White wild or a Golden Shark. Golden Sharks run the Razor Reveal, where each one turns into an instant prize from 1x to 5,000x the bet, a 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x multiplier, a Collector, a Converter or a Torpedo scatter. Three, four or five Torpedo scatters open the free spins with a starting multiplier of 1x, 5x or 25x; Mystery Stacks sit on reels 2 and 4, every nudge adds 1 to the multiplier, and a Nudge Up symbol pushes the stacks back up to extend the round. An optional Push Bet raises the stake by 10% to trigger the free spins more often without changing the return; outside the UK the feature can also be bought directly. Push Gaming ships three RTP configurations — 96.55% by default, with 95.40% and 94.49% available to operators — so the version in play should be confirmed in the in-game paytable before you start. Volatility is high, and the max win sits at odds in the hundreds of millions of spins. Bets run from 0.10 to 100 per spin, subject to the casino’s own limits. Razor Shark (2019) remains live as a separate game with its own math; Razor Ways (2024) followed with a 25,000x cap.
