Nolimit City has been consistently releasing two new games per month. We already wrote why this month’s Punk Rocker 2 is worth a closer look, but now we turn our attention to the studio’s first Super xNudge slot: Apocalypse. In fact, it’s launching across select NLC casinos today, followed by the full release next week, on July 23.
Inspiration
According to Nolimit City, they tried to combine the best post-apocalyptic movies and games to create something special. One obvious hint is the Total Recall (1990) film but also the Fallout series, which producers are big fans of. Feature-wise, we’d also add Relax Gaming’s cult classic Money Train slots, plus maybe NLC’s own Fire in the Hole releases. You’ll see why in a moment.
Game Features
xNudge Wild
- Appears on reels 2-5.
- Nudges down to the bottom, increasing the payout multiplier by 1 for each step.
- Acts as a regular Wild at the bottom position.
Super xNudge Wild (NEW)
- Appears only on reels 3 and 4.
- Must land on the same row on both reels to activate.
- Expands to cover the entire reel, increasing the multiplier by 1 for each step, up to a maximum of x8.
Free Spin Bonuses
Carnage Spins & Doomsday Spins
- Triggered by landing 3 or 4 scatters respectively.
-
Divided into two features: Hoarding and Feasting.
-
Hoarding: Starts a spin-and-catch game with 3 turns, resets when a new symbol is caught in an empty position.
- All symbols are valued as multiples of the active bet: x1, x5, x10, x20, x40.
- Filling a column with 4 symbols grants an extra spin.
- Advances to Feasting feature when no spins are left or all positions are filled.
-
Feasting: Awards additional spins (5 for Carnage, 10 for Doomsday).
-
Enhanced rows on the top and bottom of the reel reveal character symbols with unique multipliers and effects:
- CREATOR: Generates a new value symbol on an empty position.
- TRIPLET: Upgrades three random symbol values to the next level.
- CUTTER: Multiplies one random value symbol by 2.
- LICKER: Adds the highest value from the reel area to the total counter.
- CRAWLER: Collects all values from the reel area and adds them to the total counter.
-
Enhanced rows on the top and bottom of the reel reveal character symbols with unique multipliers and effects:
- Persistent versions of character symbols can land, moving to adjacent reels with each spin, reactivating their effects until reaching the last reel.
-
Hoarding: Starts a spin-and-catch game with 3 turns, resets when a new symbol is caught in an empty position.
Cataclysm Spins
- Triggered by landing 5 scatters.
- Only persistent character symbols appear during the Feasting feature.

Thoughts
Nolimit City keeps on innovating those x-Mechanics. The Super xNudge is, by our calculations, the 16th mechanic! Albeit a small update, it seems to make a difference in the base game, by making it that much more likely to strike mega-wins across the big play-field with 6 reels and 4,096 win-lines. Speaking of mega wins, players who want to take it to the extreme may want to play around with the officially-approved 1 of 58 chances of hitting the 20,000x max win by going for the Cataclysm Bonus Buy.
