Casinos supporting Danish language

Spoken by nearly 6 million people across the globe, the Danish Language is one of the older Northern European languages. The origins of Danish go back to the beginning of the 13th century with the publication of The History of the Danes (Gesta Danorum). It became more prominent in 16th century literature with publication of numerous works, including a translation of the New Testament.

Throughout its history Danish was influenced by other languages. During the period of the Middle Ages, lower German dialects could be heard by those who spoke the language. As France became a dominant European power in the 17th century the Danish language took on various loanwords from them. And when the power of English rule began to influence the European continent, many English words were added to the Danish language. Danish was the official language of Norway and Iceland well into the 20th century.

The Danish alphabet contains all the letters of the American alphabet. An Ae combination as well as an accented A and O are part of the alphabet. As with other European languages, the letters C, Q, W, X, and Z are utilized in loanwords migrated into Danish.
