The Hi-Opt Count system is a level II balanced card-counting system that can give a player an added advantage. The house always starts-off with the advantage, as the dealer is the last player to make a betting decision. However, with a card counting system, a player is able to get an added advantage offer the house. The Hi-Opt Count system has two count systems – the Hi-Opt 1 and the Hi-Opt II.

The Hi-Opt 1 is one of the simplest strategies to adopt as it only takes not of three values -1, 0 and +1. In this counting system, the lowest card 2 is assigned as neutral as well as 7, 8, 9 and Ace.However, professional players say that the Hi-Opt 1 is not very accurate as it does not include the ace and 2 during the running count. Users can include the Ace as side count to improve the strategy efficiency.
The point values of the Hi-Opt II are as follows;
The Hi-Opt II count system delivers great accuracy as compared to the Hi-Opt I as it reduces the betting efficiency but the insurance correlation is increased. The 2 is assigned a value +1 including 7 while the tens are increase to a +2.

The betting efficiency of an ace side count ranges between 0.98 to 0.99. The only difference with the Hi-Opt Count system against other card counting systems is that it does not concentrate on the Aces but takes note in improving the Tens as they give a player an advantage when doubling.
